We deliver value by buying well. Oppidan has successfully originated and managed over $1.0 billion of real estate investments for its own account since its founding in 1991. In addition, our principals have managed over $600 million of real estate investments for alterative investment funds and other institutional investors prior to joining Oppidan. With the formation of Oppidan Asset Management, this skill and expertise has been focused on the origination and management of commercial real estate investments for the benefit of third-party investors, both high net worth individuals and institutions. Oppidan works in partnership with our investor clients, providing them access to specialized, privately negotiated investment opportunities that leverage Oppidan’s unique skills, relationships and experience.

We deliver value by exiting wisely. Oppidan Asset Management also serves as an important resource for third party investors and lenders holding real estate investments in need of special attention and expertise. Oppidan steps in to troubled situations where current ownership is simply not equipped to handle the specific requirements demanded by the asset or the situation. These engagements often involve real estate owned (REO) assets held by financial institutions or under-performing or non-performing loans where restructuring or foreclosure is a distinct possibility. Our objective is to assist our client with the management of – and exit from – its investment while insuring that such disposition is done wisely and with full knowledge of the risks assumed or opportunities foregone.

Whether it’s a new investment originated by Oppidan or an existing special asset owned by a client, we approach each asset as if it was owned by Oppidan – bringing to bear our entrepreneurial vision and drive and a complete range of skills and expertise. As such, we only make investments or accept assignments when our skill set can bring meaningful value to the asset, the process, or the exit results.
