Gander Mtn., a leading retailer for outdoor enthusiasts, came to us in late May 2005 with an aggressive plan to relocate its Woodbury store. The new location, a thriving spot within the same city limits, was to open in late September for the start of duck hunting season. To meet their goals and expectations, we knew time was of the essence.

Gander Mtn.’s new site was far from simple. It had many uphill complexities. Proper county, city and local government agencies were contacted for plan approvals because of wetland issues, traffic design concerns and required infrastructure improvements with roads in the area. The lengthy approval process and acquisition of assets created an even shorter timeframe to get Gander Mtn. Woodbury opened on time.

With our knowledge and expertise, we managed to take a normal 21-week cycle and compress it into nearly half to meet our deadline. Through great partnerships and negotiating with our contractors, we lead the charge to complete this project in record time. We really had the “whatever it takes” mentality from beginning to end, even if it meant taking some risk along the way, without compromising the integrity of the project.

Gander Mtn. Woodbury was a complete success for a number of reasons but one in particular: Our ability to showcase our speed. Our staff’s quick response in solving many challenging obstacles was the key to meeting our client’s end goal. From start to finish it took us 98 days to complete this project and open the doors. Our diligence delivered a tremendous amount of value for Gander Mtn. and this is something we know is truly invaluable.
